Salary Range CAD$ 135K - $165K

Job Summary

Abdera Therapeutics is seeking a highly motivated and skilled leader in antibody discovery with a proven track record of antibody campaigns. This position will provide an exciting and dynamic opportunity to positively contribute to and lead research programs and teams developing next-generation targeted radiopharmaceutical therapies.

Principal Responsibilities

  • Scientific lead for therapeutic antibody discovery programs
  • Direct antibody program workflow, from discovery campaign initiation to lead candidate selection,
  • Contribute to project management - planning and resourcing
  • Supervise and train bench scientists, support with experimental design, data analysis and prioritisation of work
  • Participate in target selection and contribute to campaign design
  • Contribute intellectually to platform innovation
  • Prepare and present data presentations and reports
  • Work cross-functionally with other teams and liaise with CROs to efficiently and successfully deliver programs
  • Creates a learning environment, open to suggestions and embraces the ideas of others

Qualifications, Education & Experience

  • PhD in Molecular Biology, Immunology, Biochemistry, or related field, with minimum 10 years experience or equivalent
  • Industry experience with antibody discovery campaigns and characterisation essential
  • Experience supervising bench scientists essential

Skills & Abilities

  • Demonstrated advanced knowledge and experience with therapeutic antibody discovery, engineering and optimisation
  • Experience with numerous targets and antibody discovery platforms
  • Experience with high-throughput characterisation of antibodies from flow cytometry and affinity measurement to developability assays, and analysing data to aid lead candidate selection
  • Strong project management skills, including planning and scheduling scientific programs, and coordinating teams to achieve critical milestones
  • Experience with Benchling,Spotfire a plus
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, ability to work collaboratively with a cross-functional teams
  • Excellent critical thinking and analysis skills
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
